My attempts at writing.
The Short Stories
Heres is a link to my short story pages. I wrote three of them for contests on the Fantasy Writer's website. These were monthly contests and I usually didn't get started until halfway through, meaning I always ended up having to rush them. The rules for each contest changed. For example ... for the first short story I wrote we were given a title and had to write a story around it. Click here to go to the short story page.
The "Novels"
My first attempt at writing started with Soulrender. As will all first attempts, at least in my case, it shows. There are lots of areas to improve in this writing and someday I'll come back and polish it up. That may be awhile. Click here or on the title to go to the table of contents for this novel.
My second attempt, Mist of Tears, jumped into the realm of Science Fiction. The writing improved a little, but maybe the story-line didn't. It might be worth polishing later. Click here or on the title to go to the table of contents.
My third attempt, Wounded Duck, slipped completely away from Fantasy and Science Fiction into Crime. Again ... more improvement, but a story that needs a lot. Click here or on the title to go to the table of contents.
Where am I now? I've tried several times to come up with a good story-line, but I get halfway through and hit a brickwall. I haven't given up writing entirely, but it has taken a backseat to genealogy and woodworking. I think about stories all the time and once I feel like I've got something worth pursuing ... I'll jump back in!
